Subject: Milford, NH Sign Code to be revised again!!!!! (Public Meeting 12-13-05, 7PM)
Mr. Mike Leary, President
New Hampshire Sign Association

I am sending this notice out to all NHSA members and other interested parties who shoud be made aware of a scheduled meeting before the town of Milford board of selectmen, a new attempt to revise the existing business friendly sign code. I do not know the specific changes that are proposed, the committee proposing these changes will be making them public before the selectmen at this meeting and also recommending a public posting pending a voter endorsement at the next town vote, I believe in March 2006. If this happens the new proposed code will take immediate effect and will require any new sign permits to conform to the new proposed sign code. It is imperative for all interested business owners and sign manufacturers who serve the town of Milford to attend this meeting to protect our interests from the small group who feel the sign code must be changed. In my opinion this small group is misinformed about the importance of good commercial signage....we have attempted to work with this group in the past but they continue to avoid the assistance of professional sign makers. I encourage you or your appointed designate to attend this meeting to continue to express the voice of the business community....we must continue to protect the rights of the town of Milford business community.

Please pass on this notice to any other possible interested party that I may have missed...thankyou.

Rick,
I would like to clarify that the upcoming meeting on December 13th will be a Planning Board worksession and public forum to obtain input on the sign ordinance draft. The Milford Planning Board will be taking the initial step to move forward with revising the sign ordinance; no officical action has been taken. This first step is a follow up from two years ago and the Board of Selectmen are not involved in this process.

Attached is a copy of the proposed sign ordinance for you to distribute
